Inclusion Coffee Company is a unique coffee shop that's mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs by providing them with valuable on-the-job experience and training through employment in their coffee shop. They provide a fun yet challenging environment for individuals with special needs—through working at the shop they will gain insight and skills to perform such tasks as cooking, baking, crafting drinks, money handling, customer service, and more. Additionally, one of their main goals is to have more than 50% of their staff positions filled by special needs individuals!

The Owner
Mackenzie Edinger received her undergrad in Early Childhood and Special Education from UW-Whitewater and is currently studying for her Master's in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at UW-Madison. Mackenzie has long-cherished working with special needs individuals—she has always wanted to create a space where these individuals feel as equally valued and important, and through her creation of Inclusion Coffee Company, she has seen her goals of changing the lives of special needs individuals and making the world a better place become reality.
My Personal Experience
Over the summer, I went to Inclusion Coffee Company for the first time with one of my dear friends. When walking into the coffee shop, I was immediately drawn to the high spirits of both customers and employees — I couldn't help but smile while being surrounded by such positivity! As I was sitting at a table waiting for my friend to arrive, I was greeted by a young woman named Emma. After saying hello she asked, "Are you waiting for your order?" I told her I was just looking over the menu for now but everything on the menu looked very appealing! She smiled while explaining to me that her shift was over and her driver would be picking her up shortly; however, I'm welcome to go to the counter whenever I'm ready to order. Afterward, I thanked her for the wonderful service and gave her a hug — she was so very kind and respectful!
Inclusion Coffee Company offers a wide variety of drinks, baked goods/pastries, sandwiches, salads, flatbreads, and breakfast items! Once my friend arrived, I ordered an iced matcha tea latte (I personally recommend it)!
